OVERVIEW
Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara 5 days Kenya camping safaris, Lake Nakuru National park is known for it’s millions of flamingoes and other water birds, lots of wild animals can also be found in these area, like White Rhino, Hyenas, Buffalos and many more, the most preferd and booked safari by many.
The famous mara is renowned for its great herds of plain game, black-maned lions, leopard and cheetah but also contains numerous elephant and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya. Combining Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara is never wrong, as many travellers prefer having a mix of this, well Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara persay.
Day 1: Nairobi-Lake Naivasha
You will be picked from the airport by our representatives and drive through the escarpments of Rift valley making a stop over at the view point for photography. Continue up to the lodge or camp arriving in time for lunch. Relax and have an afternoon game drive at L. Naivasha national park. Once at the Park, you will enjoy a game drive and spectacular views of the gorge.
The park provides a variety of wildlife, unusual flora and many species of birds and is one of the only two Kenyan Parks where climbing, walking and biking are allowed. Animals seen here include Bush bucks, Dikdiks, Gazelles, Gnus, Hartebeests, Impalas, Klipspringers, Buffaloes, Hyraxes, Zebras, Hyenas, Jackals, Mongooses, Baboons, Monkeys and Porcupines among others. Dinner and over night stay at the Camp or Lodge
Day 2: Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru National Park
Depart from the lodge after breakfast and drive to L. Nakuru national park for a game drive as the park is home to stunning flocks of lesser flamingos which literary turns the lake shores into a magnificent pink stretch here most birds that breed in the lakes Alkaline waters can be seen (over 450 species of birds) and wildlife are also found. This park is popularly regarded as the “Bird Watchers Paradise”. The park is famous for its high population of greater and lesser flamingos. Check in at the lodge for lunch and relax before proceeding for an afternoon game drive. All Meals and over night at the Lodge or Camp
Day 3: Nakuru – Maasai Mara National Reserve
Leave the lodge early in the morning after breakfast and drive to Maasai Mara arriving in time for lunch at the Mara river camp. Have an afternoon game drive at the reserve as you enjoy the great view of wildlife. Wherever you go in the vast Masai Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal.
Dinner and overnight at the Camp or lodge
Day 4: Maasai Mara National Reserve
This day after breakfast you will spend a full day in the park. Driving across the plains in search for the big cats (black manned lions, Cheetahs and leopards with picnic lunch served at the Mara River famously known for the wildebeest migration. Have your meals as you watch the hippos and crocodiles lying along the river. Vast herds of wildebeest and zebra wander across the Mara grasslands in huge numbers during this period of the annual migrations take place, when millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle traverse the Mara plains landscape to feed on the rich new grass from the Serengeti. Day 5: Maasai Mara – Nairobi
Early breakfast and go on a game drive in the park. This will give you an opportunity to track the elusive Leopard and Serval Cat. With luck, you may witness the elegant Cheetah making a kill in the open plains. Later return to the camp and check out for the return journey back to Nairobi. Have lunch on your own en route at Narok town and arrive in Nairobi in late afternoon.
